Away from the downtown area among tall pine, magnolia and oaks, Belle Tara is a place to relax. Even the name, which means, beautiful tower, suggests a southern lady. A perfect place to stay while visiting St. Marys, Ga., the nations second oldest city.
Belle Tara, as well as her owners Debbie and Cricket Hermann will make you feel comfortable and at home. Each of the four guest rooms have private baths. Two have fireplaces, one has a whirl-pool tub and the forth will accommodate those needing separate beds. Guest are invited to enjoy the eclectic blend of styles and furnishings while enjoying books, music or conversation. Enjoy the large porches while listening to the birds sing or explore the grounds and find a special quiet place of your own.
A satisfying breakfast is served each morning in the dining room. Then spend the day shopping in the quaint shops, exploring Cumberland Island, Crooked River State park, or golfing. Kings Bay, Sub Base, and Osprey Cove are close by. The Okeefenokee National Wildlife Refuge, St. Simons Island and Amelia Island are within 45 minutes.
Lunches for the island can be arranged as well as a surprise bottle of wine, fruit basket or flowers to surprise that special someone. Restaurants are with in walking distance, weather permitting.
